What's Your Skin Type? Find Out Here!
Most women don’t know what their skin type is, or they THINK they have a specific skin type but are wrong. Understanding your skin type is a vital determinant for a lot of things you’re going to put your skin through for the rest of your life. So, watch, learn and absorb as this video is going to answer all your queries about your skin type and help you make better skincare choices in the future!
The first and the best way is to see a dermat, but if you don’t have the time for that, you need to do an overnight analysis. Wash your face clean and go to bed without any product. Analyse your skin the next morning, and assess it. What do you see?
- If the centre of your face feels greasy and the outer parts of the face feel dry, you have combination skin. Combination skin and normal skin are similar, there might be slight differences in the elasticity of the two.
- If your skin feels itchy, flaky and rough, without a doubt you have dry skin that needs lot’s of moisturization.
- If your skin feels greasy, not just on the T zone but also throughout your face, if your pores are open and the area basically feels like an oil well from Saudi Arabia, no prices for guessing, you have oily skin.
Now that you have determined your skin type, start observing how your skin reacts and behaves in the outdoors, as external factors affect your skin to indescribable amounts. Sun, pollution, dirt, weather changes etc are the external determinants. For example, if you step out in the sun and notice your skin turning red and feel a burning sensation, you have to pick products that adhere to that problem. Similarly, if your skin shines a lot and secretes excess oil when you’re out and about, you need to pick products that cater to that.
Once you’ve determined all these factors and are certain about your skin type, head straight to the drug store or your preferred skin skincare store to then buy products to suit your skin type. If you have extremely sensitive skin, it’s advisable to see your dermal before you buy anything!
Hope this video helps you assess your skin better and helps you pick the right products!
