How To Get A Flat Stomach | Diet And Workout Tips

1 - DRINK THAT MAGIC LIQUID

Water retention occurs when excess fluid builds up inside our bodies. Long flights, hormonal changes and eating too much salt can cause our bodies to retain excess water .

This can cause bloating and puffiness especially in the abdominal area, legs, feet and ankles.

The solution is to drink a lot of water, because the water that you drink will flush out all the toxins and extra fluids from your body.

2 - CUT OUT REFINED CARBOHYDRATES

Not all carbohydrates are the same. Some foods that are rich in carbs can actually be good for us.

However, refined carbohydrates, are carbs from which all the essential nutrients and fibres have been sucked out. Bread, pasta, , packet foods and drinks are great examples of refined carbs.

The solution is to cut these from your diet for a few weeks  or a month and you will find a noticeable difference.

3 - KICK UP THE CARDIO

All of us have abs but for most of us our abs hide under our belly fat.

The solution is to do cardio exercises like  swimming, brisk walking , running or any cardio exercises that raises your heart rate for an extended period of time.

These exercises will  burn the fat off your belly and bring those abs back to the surface.

4 - DO NOT KILL YOURSELF WITH CRUNCHES

Doing endless amount of crunches will not help you get a flat belly. So don't get carried away with these 100 crunches a day challenges.

The solution is to keep  your core engaged.  Numbers are not that important. 20 crunches done right with proper form is better than 100 crunches that are done carelessly. 

5 - EAT RIGHT

Eating right is of utmost importance if you want to maintain a healthy weight and have ample of energy.

Eat lean meats like chicken and fish because these are good sources of protein. Also eat foods which are high in Omega 3 fatty acids. This may seem like a paradox but it takes fat to burn fat.

Fish like salmon, mackerel and tuna are great sources of omega 3's. Leafy greens like spinach and broccoli are also great options.

6 - DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF

Starving yourself in order to achieve a flat belly sounds like a great idea but sorry to burst your bubble, it isn't. 

When you starve yourself, your metabolism slows down, making it harder to burn off all that extra fat.

The solution is to eat small meals frequently.  Don't starve yourself because when you do that, you are actually asking your body to store more fat.

 

So go on and save up some notes, you're gonna need them to buy crop tops.
