The Lehenga Body Workout | Flat Stomach Pilates

Ahhhh the lehenga, the indian version of a bikini.

Basically an outfit that shows of that mid riff, so here's an easy pilates workout to whip it into shape.

Do this everyday, say no to the last cupcake thats offered to you and you've got yourself a belly that needs no dupatta to hide it. So let's get to it:

1- Double Straight Leg Stretch.

This exercise strengthens your abdomen and hips and helps build stamina particularly in the powerhouse i.e your core. To do this exercise

  • Lie on the mat with your hands behind your head and keep your elbows open.

  • Your upper body and head should be lifted off the mat and both legs reaching toward the ceiling.

  • Exhale and engage your abdominals while lowering your legs toward the floor as far as you can without arching the back off the mat.

  • Inhale and place your legs back at the starting position

  • 2- Leg Pull Front Support

This exercise is a core strength builder that engages every part of the body. To do this exercise :

  • Get into plank position with your shoulders over your wrists, hold your inner thighs together and keep your torso in one line from your head to feet.  
  • Lift the left leg towards the ceiling and point your foot, don’t drop your hip and keep looking directly at your hands. After that, pulse your foot twice.

3- Side Bend Twist.

This exercise strengthens the lateral tors and even improves core control and balance. So let’s begin.

  • Get into side plank, make sure your wrists are under the shoulders and top foot in front of the bottom foot. Your top hand is reaching towards the ceiling while you press the floor with the supporting arm.

  • Make your torso as long and strong as you can. Imagine that you are in-between two panes of glass.

  • Exhale and rotate the torso towards the floor without moving your hips.

  • Thread your arm under the body and follow your hand with your eyes until you are looking at the mat or directly behind you.

  • Next, inhale and rotate the torso towards the ceiling as the arm reaches back to open the chest.
