Yoga For Stress Relief | How To Combat Anxiety

Stress is a normal and natural part of life, but sometimes we all have to relieve stress fast, no matter what. 

No more pulling your hair out due to stress. Next time you feel overwhelmed just try these expert approved yoga moves.

1- ALTERNATE NOSTRIL BREATHING.

Sit in a comfortable crossed-legged position and take a few natural breaths. Make a peace sign with your right hand and fold the two fingers into the palm. Place your thumb on your right nostril and ring finger on the left nostril.

Lift your ring finger off the left nostril and inhale. Then place the ring finger back down and exhale out through the right nostril.

Repeat this 4-7 times.

2- THREAD THE NEEDLE

Come into a child's pose. Keep your knees wide, drop your torso between your legs and extend the arms outwards keeping your finger's wide. Take 2-5 breaths.

Then lift off into a table top position bringing your knees closer in, directly under the hips and wrists under the shoulders.

Inhale and on the exhalation walk your left hand forward into the centre. After this thread your right arm underneath the left, lifting the hips and twisting at the spine.

To deepen this pose, walk the hand further in and come  onto your fingertips bending the elbows and making a 90 degree angle. Take 5-7 breaths in this pose.

To come out of this pose, press into your left hand and slide the right arm underneath and return to tabletop position. Then repeat on the other side.

Sit back on your heels, lift the spine tall and press your hand's into a namaste. Plug your thumb right into your  sternum and close your eyes. Focus on your breath and on your heartbeat. Finally take a big inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Open your eyes gently.

So when stress has a funny way of sneaking up on you, just try these yoga moves and you will STRESS NO MORE !
