How to Stop Lipstick Smudge
Nothing comes close to looking dressy as wearing a lovely shade of bold lipstick! It makes our entire outfit look more put together and gives us an extra boost of confidence! Some textures are hard to keep in place and become a complete nightmare to control if they smudge all over our face.
But like always, we have awesome solutions to all our daily beauty battle and this routine is one of them:
Always prep your lips by applying a moisturising lip balm. This will make your lips soft and supple, making the application effortless. Next, dab a foundation or concealer on the lips to create a flawless base. This will help give a nice base for your lipstick.
Start lining the lips with a nude lip pencil, you can also choose a shade similar to your lipstick. Once you have outlined the lips, fill the entire lip area with the same lip pencil. This will prolong the staying power of your lipstick and prevent it from bleeding out.
Now, swipe your favourite lipstick all over your lips. Add some translucent loose powder on the lips with a small fluffy brush after applying the lipstick, to help make the lipstick last.
- Slide in a clean finger between your lips, and pull it out to prevent your lipstick from getting onto your teeth. The excess lipstick will transfer onto your finger and not your teeth!
- Use your favourite concealer ideally one that matches your skin tone, and trace it around the outline of your lips with a brush. The concealer will act like a wall against your lipstick, preventing it from smudging across your face.
Finish off! With a light dusting of translucent powder.
Now, wasn’t that super easy? Just a little practice and patience is what you need to keep your lipstick from smudging and fading away. This works really well if you find dry mattes and liquid mattes a bit too drying for your lips which makes you prefer creamier textures!
